REVIEW : Skin Life Cow Brand - Facial Foam

SkinLife Facial Foam

On the first post of this newly-made blog, I will be reviewing a drugstore product from Japanese brand.

Skin Life Facial Foam

This product is very well-known in Japan for its function as acne-fighter. The SkinLife foam is a brand from Cow Brand, which is very popular in Japan. As far as I know, in Indonesia, the product is available only in certain drugstore. I bought mine at Guardian, and never have seen it being sold at Watsons or Century.

The back side of the facial foam

At the backside of the facial foam bottle, there is a short description of the product. It is written in Indonesian so I will translate it to English:

Skin Life Facial Foam

Claims: SkinLife cleanses and removes excess oil, lightens acne blemishes making the face looks brighter.

How to Use: Take a small amount onto palm, add water, lathers and use circular motion to put onto face. Rinse with water.

Ingredients: Water, Myristic Acid, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Behenic Acid, Potassium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Malic Acid, Lemon Jus Extract, Disteardimonium Hectocrote, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance, 3 methyl 4 isoprophenol, Citric Acid, Titanium Dioxide

Personally, when purchasing facial foam product, I always pay attention to the ingredients. Not every single of the ingredient, of course (due to the lack of knowledge about chemical ingredients), but only looking at whether or not the product contains SLS, paraben, or comedogenic substances.

I prefer facial foam that contains no SLS, no paraben, Isopropyl brothers (I cannot remember all types of isopropyl that is comedogenic, so I decide to just directly refuse purchasing facial foam with any Isopropyl in front).

Wondering where I get the information about comedogenic substances? You can check here:
http://www.caryskincare.com/acnecomedogeniclist.html

Apparently, this Skin Life facial foam does not have SLS, paraben, and any of isopropyl brothers. *applause*

The foam has creamy texture

Texture: as you can see, is creamy.

Fragrance: (For me) Pleasant, like a mixture of floral and fruity scent, not too strong. But I noticed that the fragrance lasts quite long, which is something I would not prefer.

(+)

It foams really well with just a pea-sized amount. The foam is (how would you define it) bouncy (?), it was very soft and glided on your face really smoothly.

It does remove excess oil - as its claim.

Did not cause break-out

No tight feeling after use, skin feels clean but not dry

(-)

Does not do anything to better the face complexion

Does not succeed in lightening acne blemishes

See how it foams up well
I expected much from this foam because it feels really pleasant every time I use it (No tight feeling afterward, no dry patches, skin feels clean but not dry), but after using it for about 1 month, I did not notice any difference to my face complexion. It does not get duller nor brighter.

It unfortunately did not succeed in lightening acne blemishes also.

Repurchase? I don't think so, because this foam does not do anything remarkable, only maintaining skin condition as it is.
