REVIEW : SKIN79 Lemon Brightening Mask

SKIN79 Lemon Brightening Mask

There are 2 things that intrigued me to purchase this product. Brightening, as I am always looking for products that could help me fighting pigmentation, and Lemon !! I personally love lemon scent. Fresh and invigorating.

I have been blog-walking quite a lot trying to find reviews of this product and out of all reviews I have read, none of them said bad impressions about this product. So, purchasing it, I did.

The product comes in a glass jar with plastic cap. Pretty convenient. Also comes with a spatula, even more convenient.

How to Use : Apply onto face. Wait for 15-20 minutes. Cleanse face with lukewarm water.

Texture :  Very creamy and rich texture. Yellowish color, more of a white when spread on face.

Fragrance : Lemon-y scent!! Yippeee. Personally love it. Fresh scent, not too overwhelming. Fades out after few minutes.

I apply the product with mask brush from Masami Shouko. Soft bristles, very soft and able to spread the mask evenly.

(+)

Cooling sensation when applied

Visible brightening effect

After using it regularly once a week for a month, I noticed my acne blemish fades away

Calms redness caused by acne

Doesn't cause any breakouts

Lemon scent. I know I would've preferred product without fragrance but Lemon scent is just irresistible.

(-)

Needs muuuultiple rinse to get it cleansed well

This is how I apply the mask
Has color. I prefer colorless. I don't get why skincare products should be 'colored'.

Repurchase? YES. It's hygienic. It's brightening. Totally does what it claims.

After cleansing the mask

This is how I looked after cleansing the mask >>

Pardon me for forgetting to photograph my face before mask, the condition was: red because of acnes in my forehead and some dry patches around upper lip.

After using the mask: hydrated, redness reduced. Love SKIN79 Lemon Brightening Mask <3

REVIEW : The Saem - Urban Eco Harakeke Cream

The Saem - URBAN ECO Harakeke Cream

Recycled-Paper Box

This product is actually the first product from The Saem that I have ever bought. I bought it from Chic Princessa with a very reasonable price, 184,000 IDR if I'm not mistaken.

I was looking for a face cream targeted to oily-combination skin and I encountered this baby :3 I felt assured that this product would be worth-it because of the natural ingredients claim and 5-Free claim:

"No paraben, No artificial coloring, No Mineral Oil, No Animal ingredient, No Benzophenone"

Before I actually decided to purchase this, I googled reviews about it but cannot find any. So, I think I would just gamble and try myself.

Look at the ingredients! No paraben, no artificial coloring. Phormium Tenax extract at the first on the list. There are also Honey and Extracts of plants. Seems sooo natural!

The jar with interesting cap

Texture : Gel-like consistency. Not sticky.

Fragrance : A mild fresh flowery+citrus-y scent. Very pleasant, not disturbing at all. The fragrance does not stay for a long time, though, so it won't matter even if you don't like the scent.

(+)

Absorbed fast

Does not feel sticky nor oily

Very hydrating

Make skin supple, not too overwhelming-kind-of-moisture

Does not cause any breakouts

Really worth the price

(-)

Difficult to get because The Saem does not have stores in Indonesia (as far as I know)

Does not come with a spatula to take out the cream. So I use baby cottonbud to take the cream while staying hygienic.

Repurchase? YES. Look at those (+)s

This cream is my HG cream and until now I have not found any substitutions for this cream, sooo keep repurchasing until I found another baby :3

REVIEW : Skin Life Cow Brand - Facial Foam

SkinLife Facial Foam

On the first post of this newly-made blog, I will be reviewing a drugstore product from Japanese brand.

Skin Life Facial Foam

This product is very well-known in Japan for its function as acne-fighter. The SkinLife foam is a brand from Cow Brand, which is very popular in Japan. As far as I know, in Indonesia, the product is available only in certain drugstore. I bought mine at Guardian, and never have seen it being sold at Watsons or Century.

The back side of the facial foam

At the backside of the facial foam bottle, there is a short description of the product. It is written in Indonesian so I will translate it to English:

Skin Life Facial Foam

Claims: SkinLife cleanses and removes excess oil, lightens acne blemishes making the face looks brighter.

How to Use: Take a small amount onto palm, add water, lathers and use circular motion to put onto face. Rinse with water.

Ingredients: Water, Myristic Acid, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Behenic Acid, Potassium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Malic Acid, Lemon Jus Extract, Disteardimonium Hectocrote, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance, 3 methyl 4 isoprophenol, Citric Acid, Titanium Dioxide

Personally, when purchasing facial foam product, I always pay attention to the ingredients. Not every single of the ingredient, of course (due to the lack of knowledge about chemical ingredients), but only looking at whether or not the product contains SLS, paraben, or comedogenic substances.

I prefer facial foam that contains no SLS, no paraben, Isopropyl brothers (I cannot remember all types of isopropyl that is comedogenic, so I decide to just directly refuse purchasing facial foam with any Isopropyl in front).

Wondering where I get the information about comedogenic substances? You can check here:
http://www.caryskincare.com/acnecomedogeniclist.html

Apparently, this Skin Life facial foam does not have SLS, paraben, and any of isopropyl brothers. *applause*

The foam has creamy texture

Texture: as you can see, is creamy.

Fragrance: (For me) Pleasant, like a mixture of floral and fruity scent, not too strong. But I noticed that the fragrance lasts quite long, which is something I would not prefer.

(+)

It foams really well with just a pea-sized amount. The foam is (how would you define it) bouncy (?), it was very soft and glided on your face really smoothly.

It does remove excess oil - as its claim.

Did not cause break-out

No tight feeling after use, skin feels clean but not dry

(-)

Does not do anything to better the face complexion

Does not succeed in lightening acne blemishes

See how it foams up well
I expected much from this foam because it feels really pleasant every time I use it (No tight feeling afterward, no dry patches, skin feels clean but not dry), but after using it for about 1 month, I did not notice any difference to my face complexion. It does not get duller nor brighter.

It unfortunately did not succeed in lightening acne blemishes also.

Repurchase? I don't think so, because this foam does not do anything remarkable, only maintaining skin condition as it is.
